Hongxi Yin
ホンシ・イン博士は、セントルイスにあるワシントン大学のサム・フォックス・デザイン＆ビジュアル・アーツ・スクールで建築科学と建築デザインの准教授として設計・施工スタジオと建築科学の基礎コースを担当しています。これまでワシントン大学チームのOTUS HOUSE を含む複数のソーラー・デカスロン・プロジェクト(*)を主導してきたことで良く知られていいます。イン博士の現在の研究テーマは、大規模な脱構築と建物の脱炭素化です。2015年にワシントン大学に着任する以前は、サウスイースト大学や中国・南京の東南大学建築学部で建築学の准教授と同時に、Broad Homes Industrial Co.の最高技術責任者を務め、大量生産のためのプレキャストコンクリート建築の設計と生産の自動化を主導しました。2006年にカーネギーメロン大学を卒業し、建築性能・診断学の博士号を取得されています。
*ソーラー・デカスロンとは、再生可能エネルギーを動力源とする高効率で革新的な建築物を設計・建設する学生チームに挑戦するもので、米国エネルギー省が隔年で開催する10種類の評価基準からなる大学対抗戦です。

Reinventing Building Industry by Circular Economy: Onsite Deconstruction and Offsite Construction

Dr. Hongxi Yin is a tenured Associate Professor of building science and architecture design at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Yin teaches design/build studios and fundamental building science courses and has led multiple Solar Decathlon projects(*)including OTUS HOUSE. Dr. Yin’s current research is Mass Deconstruction and Radical Building Decarbonization. Before he joined Washington University in 2015, he was an Associate Professor of Architecture at Southeast University in Nanjing, China. He was the Chief Technology Officer of Broad Homes Industrial Co. and led the automation of the design and fabrication of precast concrete buildings for mass production. Hongxi graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Ph.D. in Building Performance and Diagnostics in 2006.
*Solar Decathlon is a collegiate competition, comprising 10 contests, that challenges student teams to design and build highly efficient and innovative buildings powered by renewable energy held biennially by The U.S. Department of Energy
