My research focuses on proposing and implementing architectural design methods that utilize simulation of thermal and air environments to realize energy-efficient and comfortable indoor conditions. Emphasizing empirical grounding, I conduct detailed field measurements in real buildings to enhance the accuracy of simulation-based predictions made at the design stage. Furthermore, I develop predictive methods that account for the inherent uncertainties surrounding buildings during the operational phase.
Another major research area centers on the environmental adaptive behaviors of occupants, which significantly influence building energy consumption. I aim to promote behavioral change by visualizing thermal and air quality conditions through real-time simulations under actual operational conditions, leveraging AI technologies.
