Dear students and prospective students of the Department of Architecture

The Department of Architecture of the University of Tokyo value the safety and health of the students, staff and faculty members above anything. Based on this common understanding we are trying vigorously to minimize the affect on education and research by this pandemic event.

Those who have symptoms similar to flu or influenza, please stay at home and rest. Even if you do not have any symptoms, please refrain from coming to the university and laboratory as much as possible, and study/research at home. When it is inevitable for you to come to the university/laboratory please try to minimize your time, and be very careful to: wash your hands, gurgle, take your distance from other people, ensure ventilation, wear a mask if you have one and take care to coughing etiquette.

The guidance and lectures, which will start in April will be done basically through online education. The method of design studios and other exercises are now being discussed. The schedule and method of the lectures will be announced through UTAS mail, from each laboratory and the Home Page of the Department of Architecture periodically. Please be careful to gain your information.

The situation is changing very rapidly. Please be alert to the social situation and the announcements by the University. We will upload new information through this website. Please be sure to read very carefully.
