Our laboratory makes researches on environmental acoustics, which is one of the important environmental factors for buildings and urban areas. The research fields; the architectural acoustics and the noise control engineering.

Main research topics are (1) design and evaluation of room acoustics, (2) development of sound absorption and insulation systems for the architectural acoustics, and (3) measurement and prediction method of environmental noise mainly focusing on road traffic noise and (4) noise assessment method, for the noise control engineering. In addition, wave-based numerical analysis, signal-processing-aided acoustical measurement method with high accuracy and three dimensional sound field reproduction techniques are being developed, and they are efficiently applied when conducting the researches mentioned above.
