Steel Structure, Earthquake Engineering, Base Isolated Structure, Passive Control Structure

We conduct experimental and analytical studies on steel structures and earthquake engineering. In addition, we conduct studies on advanced seismic technology such as base isolation and passive control structures. Current research topics are as follows.
(1) Hysteresis behaviors and cyclic deformation capacities of steel materials and members.
(2) Evaluation of structural performance of connections in steel buildings.
(3) Development of technology to ensure continuity of essential functions in steel buildings under extremely severe earthquakes
(4) Seismic performance of steel buildings subjected to multiple severe earthquakes
(5) Performances of seismic isolation devices subjected to bi-directional horizontal forces
