ICOMOS Japan Award 2024 (Assoc. Prof. Hayashi)

Assoc. Prof. Kengo Hayashi together with Prof. Emeritus Shin Muramatsu and others were awarded the 2024 ICOMOS Japan Award for the mASEANa Project, in which they have been engaged since 2015.
The mASEANa, or modern ASEAN architecture, project promotes the documentation, evaluation, and conservation of modern and contemporary architecture in nine cities across eight Southeast Asian countries, collaborating with researchers and practitioners from Japan and Southeast Asia. The project’s findings are compiled in the book ‘mASEANa: Appreciating modern ASEAN architecture,’ which introduces 900 modern and contemporary architectural works.
